What’s a subdomain, and why is it a good idea to have one?

When you visit a website, you might notice that the destination on which you arrive might slightly change depending on the content of the web page you are viewing.

What exactly is a subdomain?

A subdomain is that piece of additional information added at the beginning of your domain. It gives websites additional flexibility to organize content for specific purposes- like a forum, a blog, or a store.

In this example, “store” is the subdomain, “truck” is your main domain, and “.com” is the TLD (top-level domain). Your domain name can be anything, but it’s best if your subdomain is something that it’s easy for your clients to type and remember.

When it’s good to add subdomains?

As we said above, you might want to use subdomains to organize your website content better.
